Early reports indicate the fires damaged or destroyed more than 2,200 structures in Lahaina – most of these were homes – displacing thous和s of residents. 夏威夷州长. Josh Green estimates the wildfires inflicted over $5.5 billion worth of damage 和 said the fires were likely to be the largest natural disaster in the state’s 历史.

While conditions are improving, the Maui blaze was 85 percent contained as of Aug. 14 with new flare-ups in Lahaina 和 several other areas. The Enterprise Holdings Foundation gift will help the Red Cross, 与合作伙伴, 提供食物, 避难所, water 和 emotional support.
This donation is in addition to the $1 million the Enterprise Holdings Foundation has donated annually to the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program since 2015 – helping the organization to respond to disasters at a moment’s notice.
